Baltic Construction, owned by my father Boris Hoffman, gets its name from the Baltic Sea, which is right by the country my parents grew up in. Established in 1989, it's a small business that has a track record of quality work and success. After relocating to Northern Virginia from California, the business needed an online presence to thrive in a new area. To help solve the business' problem, I created a new logo and website for it.
I used WordPress as the CMS and also found the template for the site from it. To capture the business' old-world feel, I added a sepia tone to its project photos on the homepage and "About Us" page.
To advertise the business' top three services effectively, I created three icons for them on the homepage.
For the logo, I used the same colors you see on the site—white, black, and a rich yellow. I chose Avenir Next Condensed for the typeface to make the brand bold and fresh. I went with an outline of a house to emphasize the fact that the business offers a variety of home improvement services.
In 2016, I created a Facebook ad for the business on Small Business Saturday to help grow its page. The ad was geo-targeted to people who live in and nearby Alexandria, VA.
